Sharks Wrap Up Impressive 2025 Regular Season with 25-19 Record, Advance to NECBL Playoffs

Oak Bluffs, MA – The Martha's Vineyard Sharks concluded a thrilling 2025 regular season in the New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL) with a solid 25-19 record, finishing third in the South Division and earning a coveted spot in the postseason. The team's resilient performance, marked by offensive fireworks, dominant pitching, and unwavering fan support, sets the stage for a deep playoff run.

Throughout the 44-game schedule, the Sharks showcased their prowess on both sides of the ball. A standout moment came on June 28, when the Sharks exploded for an NECBL record 27 runs on 22 hits in a commanding 27-2 victory over the North Adams SteepleCats at home. This offensive outburst highlighted the team's potent lineup and ability to dominate opponents.The Sharks also delivered several shutout performances, including a convincing 9-0 win over the Ocean State Waves on July 31, capping the regular season on a high note. Late in the season, the Sharks made a statement by beating the league's top team 11-2 on July 26, demonstrating their capability to compete with the best in the NECBL.

Defensively, the Sharks held their own in the competitive South Division, trailing only the Newport Gulls (29-14) and Bristol Blues (26-17) in the standings.

Key series wins against division rivals, including Mystic Schooners, Danbury Westerners, and Valley Blue Sox, helped secure their playoff berth. The team also represented well at the 2025 NECBL All-Star Game, where several Sharks contributed to the South Division's efforts in a tightly contested matchup.

Off the field, the Sharks continued to lead the league in attendance, breaking records and drawing enthusiastic crowds to the Shark Tank throughout the summer.
