The 2025 season was a thrilling ride for the Martha's Vineyard Sharks, culminating in a South Division Championship and a hard-fought run to the NECBL Championship Series. But before the playoffs heated up, six standout Sharks earned spots in the 2025 NECBL All-Star Game, held on July 21st at Maxfield Sports Complex in White River Junction, VT. Representing the South Division, these collegiate stars showcased their skills in front of MLB scouts, contributing to a memorable exhibition that highlighted the league's top talent.
From dynamic starters to lockdown relievers and power hitters, our All-Stars embodied the grit and flair that defined the Sharks' 25-19 regular season. They not only lit up the stat sheet but also fueled the team's playoff push, drawing record crowds of over 60,000 to the Shark Tank. Below, meet the six who made the island proud, complete with their positions, colleges, key highlights, and what earned them the nod.
Evan Appelwick - 1B/3B, Miami University (Senior)
The Oxford, OH slugger (#31, 6-0, 210 lbs, R/R) blasted his way to a starting position with raw power that turned heads early and often. Evan kicked off the season with homers in three straight games, earning NECBL Week 3 Player of the Week honors; he finished the regular season with 5 HRs and a team-third 23 runs scored. His .218 average and clutch RBI knocks (15 total) powered the lineup, helping propel the Sharks to the playoffs. As a First Team All-NECBL honoree, Evan's hot bat and leadership made him an undeniable All-Star choice.
Rohan Lettow - RP, Arizona State University (Junior)
From Gilbert, AZ (#41, 6-3, 190 lbs, R/R), Rohan was a late-inning wizard, earning reserve status with a resume that screamed closer. Over 11 regular season games and 14.2 IP, he posted a 1.84 ERA, allowing just 5 hits and 3 walks while fanning 25 which was good for 4 wins and 2 saves. As a First Team All-NECBL pick, Rohan's electric arm, which touched 95 mph often, and composure under fire were key to the Sharks' low team ERA (second in the league). He was the guy you wanted on the mound when the game was on the line. Pure All-Star fire!
Colby McNeely - RP, Rider University (Junior)
Folsom, PA's fireballer (#7, 6-4, 210 lbs, R/R) was the bullpen's rock, selected as a reserve for his unhittable stuff. In 12 regular season appearances, Colby tossed 16 innings with a microscopic 0.56 ERA (1 earned run), 18 strikeouts, and never more than one hit allowed per outing. His First Team All-NECBL nod came from pinpoint control and swing-and-miss dominance, locking down late innings for multiple wins. Colby's second-year mastery turned high-pressure spots into shutdowns. All-Star relief at its finest!
Will Hampton - OF/INF, Vanderbilt University (Sophomore)
Richmond Hill, GA's versatile glove (#8, 5-10, 200 lbs, L/L) rounded out the reserves with his all-around game. Will's steady regular season bat (.337 AVG with 32 Hits) and elite defense in the outfield/infield anchored the lineup, contributing 2 HRs, 19 RBIs, and gold-glove plays that saved runs. His selection highlighted his consistency and adaptability, helping the Sharks navigate a tough South Division. Will's quiet excellence and team-first mentality made him a fan favorite and All-Star lock.
Brayden Martin - 3B, University of Maryland (Sophomore)
Hometown hero from Bowie, MD (#42, 5-10, 175 lbs, L/R), Brayden was a table-setter extraordinaire, earning a starting spot in the All-Star lineup. His regular season .309 batting average was one of the best, complemented by 34 hits, 8 doubles, 33 walks, and 16 stolen bases. Brayden's consistent contact hitting and on-base prowess (OBP .438) made him a nightmare for pitchers, setting the tone for the offense all summer. Selected for his reliability and speed, he swiped bags like a Vineyard breeze; pure All-Star spark!
William Lybrook - C, Harvard University (Senior)
Atlanta, GA's backstop (#32, 6-4, 225 lbs, R/R) brought the thunder to the Home Run Derby, showcasing the pop that defined his season. In the regular season, William slugged .258 with 2 HRs and 15 RBIs behind the dish, while his strong arm gunned down 35% of baserunners. As a returner, his leadership and power at the plate (plus sharp game-calling) earned him the Derby invite and All-Star buzz. William's blend of offense, defense, and smarts was the glue for the pitching staff. All-Star from plate to mound!
